Nearing the End

I think about one more day and we will be through with my step-mother's house. Yesterday we played chair switch-er-oo. We took the two chairs out of my front room over to the neighbor's for her yard sale and put two of Leona's chairs in. I have stuff sitting all over to sort and put away, but I must pick more tomatoes and cucumbers today. Frost is on the way and then "good-bye" garden. Sure fun to read all the blog updates.

Super Klutz Granny

I crashed and burned on my step-mother's kitchen floor yesterday while cleaning out her house. I have a very pretty swolen black knee and a big piece of missing skin on my elbow. Also a very sore shoulder. Didn't break anything, tho. So once more I checked my bone density without paying for the expensive test.

Hope everyone is okay. I love you.

Time Out

I took time out to have lunch with the ladies I used to ride to the temple with. There were two from Worland, two from Lovell and me. We went to Dirty Annies above Shell and really had a fun visit. We try to do it at least twice a year.
Today I have to pick tomatoes and cucumbers and make pickles and try to get caught up. I will never get caught up 'cause I am so slow any more.

What a Difference a Year Makes!!!

Last year I walked (with my cane) five miles at the Relay for Life. This year I struggled to make almost 3/4 of a mile. I did raise $600 dollars, tho, $100 more than last year. It was fun but it really got cold before morning and the dew made everything very wet. Now to get back to finishing Barbara's quilt and do more canning, cutting wood for winter and cleaning Leona's house and disposing of all her stuff. Keep up the interesting news. I love it.

Summer is over already???

It is cold tonight. We are supposed to get snow on the Big Horns. I know I complained about how hot it was, but I am not ready for this.

We had 88 people sign the book at Leona's graveside service. Quite a tribute. We spent three hours at her house but there are many more hours taking care of things. We have 60 days to get it cleared out.

I picked a lot of tomatoes today and made more dill pickles. I just hope it doesn't freeze for awhile.

Tomorrow night is Relay for Life. Wish us luck that it won't rain!!!

Stress, Stress and more Stress!!

Thanks to all of you for your expressions of sympathy . We will set Leona's funeral time etc. tomorrow and I will let you know.

There is so much we don't know about what to do that I am very tired and very stressed. I sure learned that you need to have your affairs in order and in black and white. Hopefully I can do that and save the grief for those left behind.

I am glad we are getting a network of blogs. It is so fun to hear what you are doing. I love all of you.

All shook up

I just came from the nursing home with the feeling it will be the last time I see Leona alive. She is really bad. It really hit me in spite of our differences all these years.

I am progressing on the basket and plan to make dill pickles tomorrow. Too much to do and so little time. And I am supposed to be retired.

It is fun to hear from all of you.

Dog Days of Summer

My life isn't as interesting as the rest of you. I have enjoyed all your blogs and travelogues. It has been a hot summer and has gone by so fast it is unreal. I am about to start making pickles this week. It takes a lot of water every day, but the cucumbers are setting on.

Family reunion was last Saturday and we had a good crowd. I wish the rest of you could have been there.

The Relay for Life is on the 15th. I am making a rope basket for our contribution to the silent auction. Thanks to lks for her contribution. I will be walking in honor of Ray, Pat and Barbara. Still time to contribute if you want to. Will let you know how it goes.
